Se ha reportado por varias agencias de noticias que el cantante / compositor Tomás Tovar, conocido como Tito Torbellino, ha sido asesinado a tiros en un restaurante chino en Ciudad Obregón, México.

Estaba comiendo con unos amigos cuando los asaltantes lo sorprendieron con disparos de armas de fuego, golpeando a Tito en la cabeza y el pecho. Él murió durante su traslado al hospital.

Tito Torbellino era una estrella en ascenso en la escena de música regional mexicana. No sólo era un compositor y cantante, pero también había terminado de escribir su primer guión para la película "El Filly".

Habiamos tenido la oportunidad de presentar a Tito en LaMesera.com mucho antes de su éxito en 2007. Él siempre tuvo una mente creativa y fuerza de voluntad para tener éxito en el negocio de la música. Él era un gran fan de Chalino Sánchez, otro cantante / compositor que murió hace casi 22 años, también en el mes de mayo. Él había grabado un álbum de dedicatoria a Chalino y había visitado su tumba en el estado de Sinaloa.

It is being reported by several news agencies that singer/songwriter Tomas Tovar, known as Tito Torbellino, has been gunned down and shot to death in a chinese restaurant in Ciudad Obregon, Mexico.

He was eating with friends when the assailants surprised him with gun shots, hitting Tito in the head and chest area. He died while being transported to the hospital.

Tito Torbellino was a rising star in the Regional Mexican music scene. Not only was he a successful song writer and singer, he also had finished writing his first screenplay “El Filly”.

We had the opportunity to feature Tito on our website long before his success in 2007. He always had a creative mind and strong will to succeed in the music business. He was a huge fan of Chalino Sanchez, another singer/songwriter who was killed almost 22 years ago, also in the month of May. He had recorded a dedicatory album to Chalino and had visited his tomb in the state of Sinaloa.

Rest in peace Tito.
